Part 1 - Shifter options and modifications required to retrofit an Getrag 240 to a Opel GT, Manta A, Ascona or Kadett B. NOTE the custom made shifter I came up with works OK on Manta A. If in Europe best to get the Manta B shifter and modify the tunnel of the Manta A. It places the shifter in a better location as well as being bolt on.

I didn't try on Kadett B and the GT due to the tilted nature of the GT drivetrain, really didnt work well.

The CIH Getrag 240 was primarily fitted to the following:

1980-1988 Manta B / CC with 2.0L CIH
1980-1982 Rekord E1 w/ 2.0N, 2.0S, 2.0E, 2.1D, 2.3D
1982-1986 Rekord E2 w/ 1.8S, 1.8i, 2.0N, 2.0S, 2.0E, 2.2i, 2.3D, 2.3TD

Possibly also installed in the :
1980-1986 Opel Senator A W/ 2.5L or 2.8L CIH
1981 Ascona B w/ 2.0 CIH
1980-1982 Vauxhall Carlton
1980-1981 Vauxhall Cavalier Sport w/ 2.0L CIH
1980-1984 Bedford CF1 w/ 2.3L Diesel
1984-1987 Bedford Blitz CF2 w/ CIH 2.0L / 2.3D
Other 1980s Holden / Daewoo models are possibilities too.

There was also the Getrag 265 5 speed fitted to the larger 3.0E 6 cyl CIH.
But that transmission is a bit bigger and for a different video.
