Welcome. You just missed out on our show at the Larz Anderson museum. I am one town over from you. Let me know if you are going to any cruise nights (Like Sunday's at Seekonk Sam's Club) or shows.

Here's one: http://cruisinbruce.com/CarShowCalendar.html
I can probably give you a hand if you need anything. Right now I'm working on a motor swap in my '72 wagon: http://24v-ascona.blogspot.com/

That site was extremely helpful, looking forward to going to a few shows this year. Motor swap looks awesome by the way, definetly looks like a project though. im pretty much spending the day taking care of routine maintenance. oil pan and trans pan puking everywhere, having trouble consistently starting not sure if its the ignition switch or starter itself. changing plugs, wires, coolant flush, rear end gear oil change etc. Is there many people around with opels? ive only seen the one i own around this area

If you still have points, I recommend getting a Pertronix igniter that replaces the points. (VW ones fit. Model 1847V)
The ignition switches can get carboned up and cause intermittent starting issues. Adding a relay to that circuit eliminates the full load from going through the switch.
There is a GT in Barrington and one out towards Johnson that I know of. A body shop on Child St. had 2 but they are out of business and the GT's are gone.

Thank you, i will look into the petronix igniter, should be picking up a relay today at some point. connection to the starter isnt that well some times it starts other times it doesnt. also, my ignition coil looks in rough shape, i changed one on my old datsun once but it seems the opel doesnt fit the longer cylinder types. have you had to replace yours at all

There are a fair amount of Opel owners. This site is a bit slow as far as a traffic goes. Personally have been busy with other stuff so this is the first I have checked in on here in a while. Welcome.
