After spending close to a grand on parts from opelgtsource.com one of the upgrades i got a great deal on was the weber carburator. 4th of july sale priced it at $299 not including mounting hardware, gaskets, and weber air filter in which i ordered as well. probably would have paid the same price if i got the rebuild kit for the solex and hired a mechanic $100 an hour to rebuild and clean it. Anyone have switched to weber from stock and if so how well does it perform?

That upgrade is one of the most common for the Cam In Head motors. Very reliable. Not sure if the ones from OGTS have the proper jets for the CIH. (off the shelf Webers should be re-jetted) Give Gil a call.
You will need to use the ball nut from the Solex.Drop me a note if you need any help. I'm not far from you.
